No complaints here. The price was great and it came in a timely manner in good condition. Love the book. I was buying it as a gift.
Nearly have to dip it in highlighter as it is so enlightening and noteworthy. One of the best books I have ever read. Try again later. If you can't get into it, you are not ready for the changes you need to make to yourself. Take your time with it. It is well worth it and I can't wait to read it again.
In fact, the depth of understanding to be gained is invaluable, especially when compared to the minute price tag. This language is accompanied with a profound sense of inner peace, which has also helped me dissolve conflicts among my friends and loved ones. This manifesto of the present moment is so moving that I have actually bought multiple copies because I keep lending out/ giving away my own. This book does not "preach" or hand out a series of self-help remedies for daily woes. It functions to instill a language for the reader that enables clear articulation of what we all know inside to be the truth--the reality of Being and its applicable value.
Most of the book was theoretical - I would have like more concrete examples of how to implement the concepts in my own life. It was repetitive at times but I think someone who was learning about enlightenment and the principles of consciousness for the first time might need that repetition to reinforce them. I did not do Oprah's online classes, perhaps those would have some. I wish you could give 1/2 stars - this book is really a three and a half star rating for me.Although Tolle says he's not affiliated with any religion, this book is really "Buddhism lite". The concepts in this book weren't new to me but I thought that Tolle had an engaging style of explaining them that kept me interested.
Suddenly though, if you keep at it, the ideas start clicking and making complete sense.This is a great book for people seeking to change the way they view life, becoming more connected, and finding true happiness. I read this book at a perfect time in my life when I was open to the message. Honestly, it is hard to get into in the first four or five chapters.
